Lauren Kazee is a licensed social worker who began her career as a therapist in the Chicago foster care system before transitioning to work in schools. After more than a decade as a school mental health professional and outpatient therapist, she took on the role of Mental Health Consultant for both the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. At MDE, she led the team that developed Michigan’s state social and emotional learning (SEL) competencies and corresponding implementation resources. She joined TRAILS in 2018, and now works to onboard new school partners in Michigan and other regions nationwide.
